Does anyone think this lesson is too challenging for a complete Newbie? I'm always concerend that ppl who visit for the first time might be overwhelmed by the more challening Newbies. Thoughts?

Amber emailed me last night directly and assured me that this was all rumor.  I take her word for it and I hereby apologise and take back any insinuation that she may have been untruthful.

I read the post and responded but I should have asked her first.I have had no contact with Amber since she went to NY on this matter, so I should have asked her directly. Having said that, Amber did not contact me either about what was going on. There have been lots of rummors and I have never been particularly interested in them. For me, its end of story.

xibanyawen,

You actually make some very smart observations - I hadn't made those connections.

Either way, it's a free world of course and this is not an issue of any great consequence, but calkins makes a point that strikes me as key: lying to your audience of i.e., thouands of people (if that's what'shappening) is a really bad way to start off a relationship. In the end, the truth tends to come out and it really does affect how people look at you.

robertoelrojo,

Thx for the suggestions. I actually agree that it can be distracting to mumble like that. I shall remember next time.

I also have to start to think, think, think before I speak!

Thx to the other supportintg vocies. You make me feel wanted. I really appreciate it.

Onwards and upwards.

I wasn't around this week to do the video, so I'll just say here that Amber is every  bit as wonderful in analog as she is in digital versions.

It was a pleasure working with you Amber and I look forward to crosing paths again. Take care.

@andr3y,

Let me assure you that this isn't  propaganda. I know this because it was my idea! (I have been accused of many things, but 'communist' isn't one of them.)

Remember there's over 1,000 lessons on CPod.

kesiru,

I totally agree. I know that Amber has some recordings in the bag and that she intends a formal goodbye. This stuff was announced by others before she had the chance to do it. It came out in a slightly messy way, but I know Amber had planned to share the news at the right time and in her own way.

We're all really disappointed at losing Amber, but clearly she sees her future back in North America. I wish her the best of luck and I truly appreciate what she was able to create with the shows.  These were entirely Amber's own concepts and ideas and she executed on them tremendously. It was great to observe that. She is a rare gem indeed.

This situation also gives me the opportunity to explain another point. Please understand that people's life decisions are private and not something we can just divulge. The decision must be entirely up to the individual concerned if/when/how they see fit. Anyone who has ever worked here has the freedom to share with the community as much information they wish. It's entirely up to them.

It's kind of funny how rumors of spin and subterfuge spring up as soon as someone decides to move on. This organization is like any other - people come and go and that's just the way it is. I'm actually quite moved that people almost see it more like a family and I hope that's a good sign.

We'll all miss Amber but we promise to try to do her justice with a new cultural show. We're going to give it our best shot.

Hey Bill,

No matter who is involved, for sure there will be plenty of cultural shows beyond the lessons themselves. There are some really interesting items being cooked up at the moment. You'll be seeing them pretty soon.

Thank you all very much for the kind words. It keeps us wanting to get better and better. I have no doubt that we will be will be celebrating the 2,000th lesson in a few years and I hope that we can continue to grow, develop, and innovate the service together with you.

Let me emphasize that community activity - your activity - contributes very, very significantly to the learning. Learning is a social thing. The more interaction, the more learning follows, so keep talking to us and telling us what you need to make the leanrning more effective.
