We will tally the votes and release them on the Wednesday after Oscar night--February 27, 2008 just to give you some extra time to get in on the voting! The good thing about online Oscars is that you won't be subjected to the long-winded acceptance speeches... however, there should be some good after parties for the winners!
Get your vote in now!!!!!

Best Comedy: What is that Smell?
Best Extra: Qing Wen Even you can use Lian ... dou
Best Series: Jizhou
Best Drama: Jizhou
Right now, I am in Hong Kong and thinking about food poisoning and the Dear Amber on the subject ... I am now going to have to nominate that as the best lesson! It seems that I had some very good chicken at lunch today but now it is repeating in a manner that it should not be! And my Imodium is packed in a bag in Beijing that I will not see until Thursday. Could be intersting ....

Best Lesson: Girly Talk
Best Comedy: Girly Talk
I could not stop laughing when I heard the lesson's dialogue for the first time :). Also, it was one of those few nice intermediate lessons that are all in Chinese and don't use that dumb half English half Chinese mix.

I second henning's motion for a Lifetime Achievement Award for bazza. He's in a league of his own.

Best Comedy:
Dear Amber - "Amber vs. Clay standoff"
Best Series:
Dear Amber (Or should this be under extras?)
I don't know about any other nominees though. Although the time when Jenny explained what 网上 meant, when John explicitly said that it was for the user to figure out, was pretty funny as well.

From way back in the archive a great stinger of a post involving Ken. As I remember it Ken was complaining about the use of annoying advertising on the backs of taxi head rests that he felt encroached his personal space.
Then someone posted that Ken himself had used this very same method of advertising to promote his language schools in Shanghai. Ken, red-faced, confessed that this was in fact true but to his credit was humble in owning up to the apparent "kettle calling the pot black" incident.

I nominate a post which was in response to Bazza's post informing us about the flooding near his workplace. Combined with the pictures of the flooded area was Bazza customary glaring avator photo. And considering it had happened on a Monday the post read somthing like:
"Bazza from your stern look is it possible that you may have caused the flood in a Damien from Omen kind of way? Did someone have a bad case of the Mundies?!"
Hilarious, but maybe you had to be there.

Second on nomination for Henning's grammar post... already has my vote.
Bazza, your crazy, creative statue reminds me of some of the unfortunate small animals around here that were a tad slow crossing the road... :-)

I would like to nominate Henning for Best User Post for his Grammar Point Series. Tons of work and dedication in this that we can all benefit from.

I suggest making a trophy comprised of the four tones
\V/ but underlined (to include the first tone)
Cpod prestigous Four Tone Award. What do you think?

Perhaps you should invent a new award instead of a modified Oscar trophy.
MTV do a Popcorn trophy
CPod should do...
Any suggestions?

Do the winners get one of those statues? That would be killer. I'd pay good money for one of those.

Any lesson, or within a time period? If it is only within 2007, then DVD Ploy will have to wait for next year for top comedy.

I have the same question as Dave. So, may I suggest that CPod set a deadline to get all nominees submitted; and then to simplify things, during that week before the Oscars, announce the top 5 nominees of each category (just like the Oscars) and then everyone can vote. What do you guys think?
