端午节的起源现在最流行的说法就是为了纪念爱国诗人屈原，但根据史书的记载。端午节在屈原之前早就有了。

The most popular explanation for the origin of the Dragon Boat or Duanwu Festival is that it commemorates the patriotic poet Qu Yuan, but according to records in the classic histories Dragon Boat Festival existed long before Qu Yuan's time.

The books say that to ward off epidemics every year on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month people in ancient times would hold tribal totemic ceremonies in the form of racing in dragon boats, and people set this day as Duanwu Festival.

Ah, so that's where it came from, so now I know why it is called Duanwu Festival in Chinese. When you mention Dragon Boat Festival you just have to bring up eating zongzi, glutinous rice stuffed with different fillings and wrapped in bamboo.

The Ching Ming Festival is April 5th. The Dragon Boat Festival is the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. Mid-Autumn Festival is the 15th day of the eighth lunar month. The Double Ninth Festival is the 9th day of the ninth lunar month.

端午节的时候，有些人家里会包粽子，可是因为包粽子有点麻烦，而且一次要包很多，所以越来越少人自己包粽子了，现在大部分的人是买粽子来吃。
