If you studied Chinese using a podcast or in an actual classroom, you wouldn't have this luxury. You would have notes in front of you. ChinesePod already provides everything you need. The learner needs to do some work rather than sit passively. Try printing out the lesson notes, or loading them up on a separate device if you want the meanings.

Your comment history is interesting. Since 2009 you have complained about "over acting", then again in 2010,2012,2014...  It seems you have an issue with ChinesePod actors in general. I believe the actors "over act" on purpose to add some interest to the dialogues and keep the listener from falling asleep at the wheel and killing a small marsupial. Go back under your bridge.

Hi Judy, this comment is almost identical to your previous comment on "How Far" where you A) boasted about how long you've been a subscriber, and B) complained about the two hosts in the video. Frankly after 8 years, I'm surprised you still struggle with elementary dialogues that don't have a third repetition.

This is a subscription service, why not kindly desist from re-subscribing.

If you listen to the podcast (4:09) you will see that they actually say that 瓦斯 is a loanword and most people will be more familiar with the word for 煤气 which is coal gas。 But I guess if you don't want to be exposed to other words, maybe learning a language is not the best option for you Rob.

Most of the time when spoken, a 3rd tone does not go fully down and fully up like it is traditionally taught. Most of the time it is a short, low (falling) tone - not as strong as the fourth tone, nor does it start quite so high, but to the untrained ear it could be confused with it.  I found this article helpful in learning this. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the lesson topic.  Can we have some more gym topics, maybe focusing on weight lifiting. Summer is coming up so I really need to get to the gym so learning some phrases like, "Can I use this, or "can I work in with you" would be excellent.  Also, words for some common lifts like squats, reps, sets, deadlifts, drop set etc would be great.

哈哈, you got me fooled for this since I only just checked the lesson and didn't realise.  Anyway, despite the joke it was great to learn a new chengyu and learn some new language at the same time.  I also spotted the troll face in the picture. Great work guys :)

The older upper intermediate lessons with John Pasden had quite a lot of English, so I think having some of the more nuanced language briefly spoken in English is not a a bad thing per se.  For complete immersion I like to listen to the advanced levels but these are sadly a bit too difficult for me at the moment. I guess you can't please eveyone :)
