Oh a serious lesson. Useful, I agree (that's not a pickup line though?). I look at (Japanese) magazines once a month maybe, at the hair salon, just to make sure I'm not totally losing touch with the current vocab. I know Cosmo and Glamour, know they're for female readers. I'm pretty sure they're not reaching out to females like me.

Buddhism is an "ism", 佛教 in Chinese. I don't know really, if Judaism is considered something other than (just) a religion. The Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary says it is "the religion of the Jewish people, based mainly on the Bible (= the Christian Old Testament) and the Talmud".

对,那样很有可能被弄得乱七八糟。跟学习几种拉丁语言(比如说,同时学法语+葡萄牙语+西班牙语)不一样吧。

Aiya too late to edit my above comment. I did listen to the lesson before I commented ... But now I see 有可能 has been explained as "there exists a possibility". Limited to the understanding I gave above, I would have interpreted 这里有可能被拆 as "This place is likely to be demolished", rather than "might be". And I guess that interpretation could often be wrong. Apologies for adding confusion!

Perhaps I should stick to 很有可能 when I want to talk about something being likely.

I think we're actually looking at 有可能 in this sentence, rather than just 可能. I first learned 有可能 in a dictionary lookup for "(be) likely (to ~)". So to me 最有可能赢 is easy to understand as "(be the) most likely to win".

I think we can say 很有可能 for "(be) very likely (to ~)".

嗯,泥轰和にほん(日本)发音还接近的。哎呀,另外一个外语吗,可学不到!有一天我汉语流利了,就会重学法语,来不及着手学火星语,呵呵。

No issues with the woman's accent, whether she's speaking "standard Mandarin" or anything like that.

I think we can get a bit spoiled listening to the best dialogue performances from familiar voices like Connie's or David's for instance. I agree with monge_chapolin that it's all good practice for us, at this level, to deal with unfamiliar voices and habits people have.

Here's my attempt to transcribe this lesson. It's a work in progress in that I've left out the boy's speech clips for now. Plan to try to transcribe those later, but would also appreciate any offers to help out there! I found Jenny and Connie particularly easy to listen to in this lesson.
