February 26, 2008 at 11:00 AMChangye and Bazza - thanks for the list of British towns - real cool and just what I have wanted for a long time. I am now a naturalised 'London ren' and bought an apartment there last year. It is one of the most expensive cities in the world, but so international. You can eat anything there, any minority food, such diverse culinary arrangements, fantastic culture , theatres, cinema, museums, history, football, entertainment, you name it, shenme de ... one of the top international cities in the world - really. Why do you think we beat out the French for the next Olympics ?

February 26, 2008 at 10:50 AMI went to Leeds University some 40 years ago . Have not been back since - I think I lost it on the map. No, seriously, it then had a really good fotball team - that was why I went there - to watch them every fortnight. Better than any London or Manchester teams then.

February 25, 2008 at 2:53 AMYour expnsionary plans look interesting. Hopefully you are fully protecting your brand name and intangible rights somehow. We would not want unscrupulous imposter podcast programmes trying to duplicate your style and replicating your copyright material ?.

February 24, 2008 at 1:42 AMI am not whining, and perhaps it is just me and I am getting better, but this lesson really seemed rather on the easy side for an Elementary. Just a notch above Newbie even ?

February 19, 2008 at 2:17 AMOne always says '喝 汤' never 'eat soup' ? - even the thick tasty looking soup in the picture ? As a child, we used to drink it if in a cup or mug, but eat it in if in a bowl .

Posted on: The Fourth Tone
February 7, 2008 at 8:09 AMRe using English words, I was once teaching a Chinese language partner how to read a particularly long and difficult English text passage from her learning book.To my suprise, she marked up the English passage text with the Chinese 1st to 4th tones tones as she heard me read it out. I had always thought we English did not really have much tonal differentiation, but to her ears it came out quite strong.

February 29, 2008 at 8:15 AMHey - I am first in. Amber -just got back to Beijing from my visit - I do not dare listen to this in case I come across excrutiatingly embarrassing to my fellow poddies. You could have let me edit it first just in case. Anyway, thanks again for letting me look around - awesome experience poddies, meeting all the crew, Amber, Jenny, Connie, Clay, Ken, the back upguys and girls, the factory itself, shenme de. What a place !. And actually being allowed inside the Holy grail itself - the recording studio ! .
