It's worth remembering the site isn't just used by Americans (I'm kind of assuming you are American!) and different people find different accents easier to relate to. Listen to a few more, and you might change your mind.

May 11, 2010 at 7:12 PMI've never noticed Liliana's translation to be anything other than 100% perfect, and to boot, I really like her presenting style. It's been commented before, her language skills really are prodigious.
I think making the learning enjoyable and engaging is far more important for recall and comprehension than hearing an accent you're 100% familiar with.

Does it also come under the "two third tones" rule, so the 苦 becomes a second tone?
