September 14, 2010 at 7:14 AMThanks bodawei! I confess they're my kids' toys though. My son was pretty unimpressed to see his dinosaur singing on screen, I have to say. :)
Oh, I just remembered, I had a dream about you last night! How weird. All I can remember was that I found a picture of you as a young man. Admittedly, not the best dream in the world, but hey :)

September 7, 2010 at 1:33 PMExpansion sentence:
谁打电话给你?
Shuí dǎ diànhuà gěi nǐ?
Is the word order interchangeable? i.e. can you say:
谁给你打电话?
Posted on: You've been everywhere!
September 7, 2010 at 10:17 AMIn the expansion sentence:
在西安玩得怎么样?
Zài xīān wán de zěnme yàng?
The translation is "did you have fun in Xi'an". How is this in the past tense? If I were to read that, I'd have assumed it was asking what's fun in Xi'an (like, how is the playing in Xi'an?)

September 6, 2010 at 1:24 PMJust noticed tons of grammar tags in recent lessons! This fills me with rather embarrassing excitement!
Think you're right about the confusing of 把 and 被. How on earth you guessed that is beyond me. Knowing the meaning doesn't help me much with my sentence order, but I can see from the example sentences in the first qing wen that I think my questions might be answered:
The把“ba”structure:
Subject + ba + Object + Verb + other
e.g.
主语+把+宾语+动词+其他东西
zhǔyǔ + bǎ + bīnyǔ + dòngcí + qítā dōngxi
That's the same structure isn't it?
