To answer my own question a little, I found two Qing Wen's on 把:

把 Humbug

The Magic Word 把

And a Qing Wen on 得:

How're You Doing? 得

I might get some answers if I listen to them. Now the sentence order. I think what's got me is the She - room tidies - very clean. That's a normal chinese sentence order isn't it? I think if may I study 把 a bit, it might be clearer.

Regarding sentence structure. Is there any lessons/qing wens etc that could help me get this sentence structure clear, because it's so confusing:

总是房间收拾干净

She always 'passive marker' room tidy-up 'de' very clean.

There's no way I would think to construct a sentence in this format, anyone have any thoughts around it, or am I just being baffled by the combination of lots of grammatical elements?

As a side note, grammar tags on this sort of thing would be really useful.

Yea, they were a young Chinese couple. That's the last time I take at face value what John Pasden says is normal conversation!

(only joking John).

I bought up zombies at dinner out with some friends. They asked how I knew about them, and I explained that I had been doing a chinese lesson involving zombies. There was a long pause, and they declared, "you have a terrible teacher".

I take this as some kind of personal victory :)

That kind of implies anyone knows where he is!

That's some pretty ambitious spam if he's making a response today, responding to a post made 2 years ago with a blog posted 3 years ago including the words that the post 2 years ago stole!

My favourite bit is at the end where he's all "为什么?! 为什么?!" Then straight up calls the other girl. :-)

the 个 (ge) here is a measure word for person, so it attaches to the number (一 yi1) to signify what you're counting. There's a good Qing Wen on it here:

Measure Word Fundamentals: 个,只,条,张

Hope that helps!

I'm sorry Dave. I'm afraid I can't let you do that.
