September 2, 2010 at 1:02 PMI'd quite like to know this too? The only time I've seen them with women is when they are acting as formal hostesses, e.g. showing important guests around etc. Never seen a modern chinese man in traditional dress outside kung fu circles!

I guess in the old days, grandparents could have looked after them, but with massive urban migration, things are different?

September 2, 2010 at 9:54 AMHmn, my girlfriend says she was regularly left to get home on her own from the age of 8, because her dad was working away and her mum didn't get home until later. I don't know if that's typical though.
