November 3, 2010 at 11:22 AMI'm curious about the usage of 窝不窝囊. Like 喜不喜欢 and 知不知道, I'm told that this is technically grammatically incorrect since such adjectives are not 离合词. This is the first time I've seen this usage with an adjective rather than a verb. 热不热闹 also seems to be used, but 按不安静 sounds strange to my native teacher. Is there a pattern to which adjectives are acceptable?

October 18, 2010 at 11:01 AMI don't want to nitpick, but I don't think 鸟儿 is technically 儿化音. If it was, it would be [niaor] right? I distinctly hear two syllables. So does this mean a "bird child" or, in other words, a baby bird?
