  What is the 了 doing in:

你让我想杀了自己。

Is this 了(1) or 了(2)？

Is  你让我想杀自己。ungrammatical?

Ken, I hear you use this word all the time, and I have no idea what you mean by it: what exactly is "lexis"? I don't understand how any language can be studied or spoken in a way that can't be put into "chunks".
