You're right - neighbours was pretty popular in the UK (is it still going?). I suspect most people watched it mainly for the sunshine!

Hi darkstar94,

I guess this 了 here indicates a change of state (i.e. from being not asleep (awake) to being asleep). So 睡 means sleep, adding the 了 changes the meaning to "fall asleep" - I secretly fall asleep during class.

Hi veronique21,

军 is indeed army. You may also see:

空 - air force

海 - navy

警 - police

使 - diplomatic/embassy

想不起来 means unable to think of or remember/recall something. So, you have it in your brain somewhere but you can't (at the moment) retrieve it.

"记不住" means unable to get it into your brain in the first place.

There was an old episode of Qing Wen that gives a good explanation of 记住 and 记不住:

Qing Wen - Do You Remember....

Great lesson!

I have a question about a word from the supplementary vocabulary, 行酒令, translated as a game where the loser must drink. Is the 行 here a verb?  Can I say something like 我们行酒令吧。?

Thanks.

谈到受精的鸡蛋呢,让我想到菲律宾的一个美食叫balut. 真好吃啊!

Thanks Connie. Got it! You may want to ask Jason to take another look at the translation for the baby sentence.
