Also, you don't find this lesson if you search for "Love tangle", although you'll find the other LT lessons.
Good lesson, though.

December 14, 2009 at 8:25 PMThat vid was really great. Did you select the language to be used in the dialogue based on that used in the vid? I found I understood most of that.
I would love more stuff like this. Dig up a video of someone explaining how to write a specific character, then do a dialogue on calligraphy instruction! That would be really super. Heck, I'd watch any old instruction video if I learned the vocab for it through CPod first.
I think the combo of images plus a voice describing them does great things in providing a context for understanding the language. This dialogue was really hard until I watched the video.
Great job, ChinesePod! As I said, more video linked lessons like this would be kickass! Or just your own videos of Jenny, Connie or one of the counselors explaining something they're doing. Like the Vocab Tour vids, but with actual spoken language. "This is a cucumber. In China we like to put them in sandwiches, to the chagrin of many foreign visitors" instead of just pointing to it and going "cucumber!"
Just thinking out loud.

"A problem that which China is facing" doesn't really work as a translation. 我所说的 means "What I said", but can't you also just say "我说的"? What does the 所 add here? Is it just that it's often omitted? Likewise, could I just say 中国面临着的一个大问题?

If you look at their faces, you can usually guesstimate whether their intention is fistifight or horizontal mambo. (Or else, in some cases, the distinction is hard to make anyway.)

December 7, 2009 at 7:16 AMOn a related note, here's what's wrong with my flashcards: the vocab item at the top of the list of items to review replaces the item at the bottom. So if I don't shuffle, the top one will be reviewed as the first and as the last card, while the bottom one will not show up at all.
Anyone else noticed this?
