Keth, Good to see you using the Shared feature, but yes, I realize since not everyone can see the "Task" tab and upload a task, not everyone will know what it is. I do recommend putting the task description in the field of what you want to say here.

Remember, you can always "Share" your "Task" work here if you want others here to be able to review and comment on your work...don't be scared. :)

I looked at many examples in an on-line Chinese-English dictionary, and they all use 失真 shīzhēn :

失真 [shī zhēn]

[物] distortion

(of voice, images, etc.) lack fidelity

[光] anamorphose

not be true to the original

So yes, we need to know where we can "pirate" John's materials...haha.

sinosplice.com....hahahaha. Of course there you'll just find videos of John or by John, but they are all copyrighted for sure! (because, you know, there is a copyright year at the bottom of the webpage...that makes it legit!)

Yeah, in Chinese 开 means so much, and 打 means so much. And even my Chinese friends who know even more English words than me and speak very well still say "Please open the light!" I once grabbed a lamp when a friend said this and tried to open it to get to the mechanics, haha.

Where have all the videos gone in China? I still wonder where all the flowers have gone...haha. Even the plant my landlord must have put outside the window of my new place, but which I never even took care of but was green last month, is completely dead...too cold.

I use Netflix, paid of course, but you still have to have a VPN, not because China blocks it, but because Netflix doesn't allow IP addresses from outside of the good ol' USA (maybe they allow Britain, not sure...just not China for sure)
