@Kyle, You clearly haven't understood my question at all. And my question is clear enough, so I don't need to rephrase it, sorry. I need an answer from a Chinesepod admin or a local, thanks.

I did a search on google and baidu on : "我还想问问你" and noticed that the words following 我还想问问你 are ended by a question marker. I didn't find any occurrences of : 我还想问问你...呢! So is this type of sentence (问问...呢!) : grammatically incorrect but commonly used or grammatically correct ?

@ HannahIm It seems to me obvious that 我的爱好是写诗歌 means "compose poetry" not ""write out someone else's poems by hand" @Kyle: the best way to say "I enjoy writing poetry." would be 我很享受写诗歌的过程 which actually translates to "I enjoy the process of writing poetry." I hope not, what an awfully unpoetic sentence !

characters in the picture: 亲戚 [qin1qi1] : (a) relative (i.e. family member) Surprisingly, in most dictionaries, the qi of 亲戚 is fith tone.

@Lantian, My last comment was tongue in cheek actually. One of my motivation to write from time to time in Chinesepod is to get one of your insightful, witty and sometimes funny comments ! Far from me any intention to censor you or anyone else. Well, to be honest, and as you now know, I would like sometimes to censor those who I think are totally unqualified to teach or give advice as to how to say things the proper way in Chinese. As far as you are concerned, your level is far beyond these guys (in fact, there is only one but I would hate to give his/her name), however you never pretended to teach anybody. So please write more !

If it's a phone call (not the telephone itself), no need for a measure word in 99% of the cases, IMO. However if there is a need for a measure word, looks like it's 通 (42) yi tong dianhua (一通电话; 'a CL (putting through) phone call') http://cache.baidu.com/c?word=measure%2Cword%2C%B5%E7%BB%B0&url=http%3A//journal%2Edyu%2Eedu%2Etw/search/download/cv12n207%2Epdf&p=8e67d154cd904eac5bbfc4710f64&user=baidu May I reiterate my request to Chinesepod that somebody near the level of a Chinese local person (like Amber) steps in more often to answer questions when they relate to the correct use of Chinese by Chinese people ? thanks ! ?

Users would be better-off skipping Lantian's latest sentences in Chinese as one of them may lead them to wrongly use 或者 huò zhě instead of 还是 hái shì (not sure however, but for safety reason, better skip reading !) Having said that, how do you look up a measure word for a noun ? good results when doing a google search as in this example: Google search : measure word 饭

no occurrences of 只动物 but you will find specific animals (tiger, dog) if you search for 只 in the Chinesepod dictionary.

following up on Bill interesting suggestions: add a google search to the site, so you will easily find occurrences of, for example 两辆汽车 or 只动物 In fact no occurrences of 只动物 in Chinesepod. In the mean time, you can use that type of search in google: site:chinesepod.com 两辆汽车 Even easier if you have the Google toolbar in Firefox. You can do Search Site directly.
