November 11, 2007 at 3:56 AMI think you can add 位 as a measure word for people. question: if I go alone to a restaurant, and I am being asked by the 服务员: 几位? do I answer 一位 or 一个 or both are acceptable ?

With all the respect and consideration etc. that I have for John, Dave and Amber's Chinese level, I rely even more on Jennie and Connie. (Funny that sometimes I have to state so obvious things ...)

November 6, 2007 at 1:48 PM@executer my guess is that your guess is wrong : the huge majority of newbies don't use ChinePera-kun or anything similar. + if you see only one new Admin doesn't mean that there is only one new Admin: check other lessons. If I wish to see their picture and profile, it's to check: if they are locals their Chinese credentials. I am keen to have answers given by locals, not by intermediate or even advanced learners
