November 24, 2007 at 6:22 AMI just talked to a Chinese man who told me that saying 你的身材很好 is actually very close to "You have a nice body" and would not be said by a gentleman to a Chinese gal when he first meets her. He also said that compliments about 身体 refer to the health only, not the physical appearance.

November 24, 2007 at 2:42 AMIMO, 你的身材很好 (Nǐ de shēncái hěn hǎo.) is not the litteral translation of "You have a nice body". IMO again, 身材 (shēncái) refers to the general physical appearance whereas "You have a nice body" would be said after a more detailed, part by part, evaluation :-)

November 18, 2007 at 1:48 AM赵露 is probably scared that this guy will abuse or kidnap her. So it's strange that she asks : 我到底来到了一个什么地方? In that situation, the sort of place she landed to would be less an issue to her than how to defend herself.
