Google: 4,170,000 for 素菜 [sù cài] 66,900,000 for 蔬菜 [shū cài] so 蔬菜 [shū cài] is much more widely used that 素菜 [sù cài] for vegetables.

just noticed a mistake in my translation: "deuxième troisième ton" should be translated as "second third tone" (not "half third tone")
