Yes I just checked this.  Only the first and third sounds are correct in the vocabulary section

Well I suppose I must have been zoned out when the term zoned out came into the language or should I say came into American.

In the supplementary vocabulary you have

发呆  fādāi to zone out

What does 'to zone out' mean?

Rich That clarifies something that has been puzzling me for a while! I was in Guangzhou with a Cantonese speaking friend (who also speaks Mandarin). When I asked for the bill ie I thought I was saying 买单, but she said "you are picking up Cantonese". This puzzled me, but I think the explanation is that I erroneously used a second tone instead of a third tone and it came out as 埋单.

I haven't listened to the dialogue yet but the vocabulary tab pronunciation of 稳定 sounds more like wen3 diu to me than wen3 ding4.

Thanks yanjiao.  I used to do this and post the vocab but few people seemed to appreciate it!

The lesson introduction is a bit of a tester for our non native English speaking friends!  :-)
