Surely he is 8 or 20 years older than her, rather than 4 or 16.

There is a wierd discontinuity in this lesson which jumps from one sentence to another as if a bit has been edited out of the recording.

John and Jenny are discussing the sentence 就是需要点儿钱 but then John says "the important thing in this sentence is the 你" which is actually part of the next sentence!

Why has no one else noticed this?!  Am I dreaming?

I have always felt that the 'two' chule's were just one.  Doesn't the English 'apart from' translate both? - or maybe I am using 'apart from' wrongly!

Does anyone know whether there is any Chinese cuisine that we might regard as being healthy in the West?  I mean anything that doesn't include large quantities of salt and/or oil and/or saturated/animal fat and/or sugar,  soya sauce and overcooked vegetables?

In Beijing I waited for an hour or so for a meal at a全聚德 (quanjude) restaurant - famous for Beijing roast duck.  It was worth it.

I don't know what John has against cucumbers.  As Jenny says we don't have a hangup in making cucumber sandwiches in England.  We also do salad sandwiches with lettuce tomato cucumber et al..

Please don't always represent your American values as applying to all of 'the West'  :-)

However I do agree about luncheon meat being yuk.  This was immortalised by Monty Python's Spam sketch.

The picture looks rather like a salad sandwich you might find in Britain by the way.

Changye Thank you. I see now. In fact we can use 'to like to' in English in a similar way I suppose: He likes to smile a lot, she likes to cry...

I don't understand the 老爱  in 老爱在楼道上放垃圾...

Is it a mistake?
