I am always a little concerned about the longevity of a lot of new 'green' tech - but I am thoroughly pro-green.

The current generation of car batteries are not only extraordinarily heavy, and sizeable, but also pretty hard to dispose of in a green way. Even with their size and weight they still fail to provide impressive statistics.

I really hope there are good evangelists such as Dennis promoting research into more efficient technology. I really think there is a danger that we all adopt this technology early, and dump the technology en masse as soon as something more efficient comes along.

Great interview by the way! Dennis is very easy to listen to, and I am certain he has a bunch more stories to tell.

Ha, I never thought of it like that nudeaintrude...

No silent 'h's, no 'c' being 's' sometimes, no completely different sounds to how it is written (Milngavie, Worcestershire, Edinburgh - wait, those are all place names)....

Pinyin is pretty succinct!

I thought the really interesting part of this show was how people are managing the current economic climate. I would definately like to hear more about that, and whether people would consider setting up their companies in today's climate.

I was in this relationship. Take away the sirens, but leave the dank cellar.

I need a drink.

If you are going to do a supplemental lesson, it might be nice to know where the textbook sounds change in different regions. I know it has been touched on in the past here...

Of course the problem with such a lesson is it might undo the good these pinyin lessons have done :)

(Mostly) Harsh words for the HTC you guys! Without throwing stones at the Apple camp, being able to run more than a single application is a plus. Being able to write your OWN applications is a massive boon (anyone else here programmers?).

But, Jenny, I am geek-blooded. But I can't understand the fear of the Android interface. It is slick!

It is funny there are imitation Android interfaces on some Chinese phones... despite the fact it is open source and they could have helped themselves...

The important thing is it will make other manufacturers try harded - nothing is more important that Apple being kept 'on their toes'.

As for petercook1's comment - I can't write Chinese characters for toffee. Or I can - but it would take me a week. Hope the roman characters doesn't make you all dizzy!

I can hear myself saying duun more than duen. It is pretty subtle to my ear.
