Wow! :) 对不起 我不言中文 :( I just wanted to say how much I am enjoying my new toy! It is a Firefox add-on that Boran mentioned in one of his posts! :) I think everyone should have it!! :) It is called: "Chinese Perapera-kun: Chinese Popup Translator" Here is the link - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3349 It translates the 中文 in a little pop-up window as you hover the mouse cursor over the characters. It even attempts to group phrases together and does a pretty good job of it too! I can understand so much more on this conversation and it is helping me to recognise not only singular characters but groupings as well! :) If I hold down the SHIFT key, it shows a proper character description and picture with the Pinyin, English and Cantonese! :) Truly remarkable! :) 比起 for everyone! :)

I usually just copy and paste it gesang. And the comments thing does the rest. Like I will copy and paste the link of this lesson from my address bar: http://chinesepod.com/lessons/going-to-the-pharmacy/discussion I didn't add any coding or anything.. just the raw text of the link with the http:// in the front of it.

The first line is ok. The next line should read: 不是. 我九月去. bu4 shi4. wo3 jiu3yue4 qu4 Again, the 3rd line is wrong, which should read: 不告诉你! 回来? 时越吗? bu4 gao4su nı3! hui2lai4? shı2yue4 ma? Or should that be: 不告诉你! 回来? 十月吗? Not too sure with that shi2.. but anyway.. The last line looks ok though.

Hrmm I have Vista Premium.. You have to turn it on though.. and it takes a little to set it up. 1 Control Panel 2 Clock, Language and Region 3 Change keyboards and other input methods 4 Change Keyboards... Now you need to add the ones you want. I made the Chinese (PRC) keyboard using "Chinese (Simplified) - US Keyboard" as my default. Then I can use CTRL+LeftShift to switch between English and 中文 and back to English again quickly. May be you didn't install it? I don't know.. sorry.

Great stuff.. I have to admit though that I didn't really keep up with most of that lesson.. I just like the sound of Jenny's voice.. hehe.. She has such a nice voice.. :) May be they could bottle her voice for a new type of drug! :)

I wonder on the availability of Codeine in China? I tend to get migraines every now and then, and the only thing that cuts to the core of my ache is either ibuprofen or paracetamol infused with codeine.. That really takes the edge off.. it never quite takes it away completely but it's available over the counter without a prescription.. and that's the best kind when you get hit by a migraine without warning!

Eeek! Sounds more like a date-rate drug than a cure for the sniffles! :O I'll be sure to get a knowledgeable Chinese person to help me when selecting medicines knowing that! Also: With Windows XP and Windows Vista, they both come with a "Language Bar". Up until now I have always had the language bar turned off as it was just annoying and a waste of space on the status bar. It already included the software needed for me to quickly switch from english to 中文 and then back again. :)
