April 21, 2008 at 11:39 AM我可说一些中勾但是不许多 Unfortunately I had to look up a lot of that.. I typed about 10% of that without assistance.. I even got stuck on the word for "can".. which is really frustrating me at the moment.. the simple little constructions of "I like this" or "I want that" or "I can do that" or "I have this" etc.. Very frustrating..

April 21, 2008 at 11:33 AMWhen is it ok to omit the pronoun and not? I am really getting stuck on adverbs and when to use pronouns and when not to.. I seem to be at a roadblock in my learning at the moment.. not really progressing, not really getting anywhere beyond my meagre vocab.. is 你要买什么 wrong? or is it just a matter of it being too formal? I also find it difficult to know where to place things in the sentence.. I can never remember the "are" "am" "my" "have" words.. :( Feeling very lost for some weird reason..

April 21, 2008 at 10:29 AMI find it interesting that the literal translation actually works well into the #1 and #2 colloquialism. 小便 = small relieve-self #1 大便 = big relieve-self #2 In my Reading and Writing Textbook it actually refers to 小便 as meaning "to piss" and 大便 as meaning "to shit". I was a little shocked that they would use such strong language in a formal text book on 中文! Would it be more correct to say: 我需小便 or 我需要笑便 or 我甘心小便 I don't really see what the difference is, except possibly in the different levels of urgency?

April 21, 2008 at 1:28 PM:) It is good name because I am Christian too and that is what my parents named me after.. so it is perfect name because it does not disrespect my parents' choice of name and is not something I just made up, it's something I searched for and found.. it's just perfect. :)
