April 23, 2008 at 11:38 AMHere is a link to the original Days of The Week Lesson on ChinesePOD. It's definitely not the same level of production quality but still very good expansion on this lesson. It goes also into the months of the year as well. It's really more of an explanation format rather than the now familiar dialogue-based format. http://s3.amazonaws.com/chinesepod/0021/mp3/chinesepod_A0021pb.mp3 I hope the link still works? April 23, 2008 at 11:12 AM哈哈! I bought a "Please Speak To Me In Chinese" T-shirt from John Pasden's website. :) I can wear it on Fridays when I go to work because we have casual day. :) I met a Chinese person today near my new office. He runs one of the many coffee shops at the Wynyard train station terminal. We were chatting about nothing in particular and he asked me what I was doing on the weekend because we have a long weekend. I said I wouldn't be doing much except may be to study a little. So naturally he asked me what I was studying and I said I am learning mandarin! :) He is very nice and offered to help me whenever I come to buy coffee. :) So slowly I am developing a network of people I can speak Chinese with. I will need to learn how to order my coffee in mandarin now so I can impress him.. haha! :) Also there is a young chickbabe that works there in the lunchtime hours and she also is Chinese.. so if I get to know them all well I will have more networks to chat with. Anyway.. I should get my T-shirt, along with ChinesePOD.com T-shirt on, or around, my birthday in May! :) What a nice birthday present! :)

April 23, 2008 at 2:29 AMYeh I have one of those that my chickbabe, chunmei, gave me but up till now I have not really done much with it.. may be it's time to start using it and actually doing the written exercises inside it... I have been putting it off because by the time I get home at night after work I am wrecked and don't feel like reading and writing lessons.. doing it online is much less work but I think Iw ill never progress if I keep using computer as crutch.

April 23, 2008 at 2:01 AMYes I have the same one! The Simplified one though. Unfortunately I have limited access at work and I can't see or write in chinese characters at all so I can't reply using the characters.. I'm still having trouble with sentence construction too.. I wanted to say "I have the same book".. but I couldn't remember the word for have.. I think it is yeo3 ?.. but then of course I don't know the noun for book (I only found it yesterday for the first time..) and I don't know the word for same either.. haha.. so I can't do much else but read, listen and talk like a caveman.. :)
