May 29, 2008 at 11:04 AMHehe.. I just found this interesting phrase in one of my Chinese books so I thought I would share it:
大吃大喝
dà chī dà hē
To pig out! (Heavy Eating and Drinking; to eat and drink extravagantly)
Hehe..

May 29, 2008 at 10:50 AMChinese Person is 中国人 rather than just 中人。 Female Chinese Person would be : 中国女人 I think.

May 29, 2008 at 9:50 AMSorry if I sounded interrogative, I didn't mean to sound like that. I have the greatest respect for the ChinesePOD staff and would be filled with despair if they ever took my comments and questions to be an attack against them.
I was just trying to be clear and precise in my not understanding why the character was left out of the sentence. I was wondering whether there was some hidden secret as to why the character was dropped, so that I could learn something that would answer other questions I would have later about creating sentences.

May 29, 2008 at 9:07 AMIf you just hit enter key once..
it does this. However, if you hit it twice..
it does this. So they must have decided to double-space everything.

May 28, 2008 at 9:34 AMIs the reason you can't say
减胖 because 胖 is an adjective, where as 肥 is a noun? So.. you could say:
你不是胖了..
??

Hi light487,
你可以说:
你不是生病在家吗?
Nǐ bù shì shēngbìng zàijiā ma?
家 not 家园?
I don't understand why when my dictionary says that 家 means "furniture" but 家园 means "home". Why is the 园 removed here?

May 27, 2008 at 1:04 PM帕特丽夏 - hee hee.. Loses something in the translation I imagine..
Uniquely Veiled Korean Summer? :)
她是美丽
Max是十八岁,但是他是小狗的我。
I probably said that wrong.. What I meant to say is: Max is 18 years old, but he's still a puppy to me.

May 27, 2008 at 12:46 PMYes he is very well loved. In Australia beef, lamb and pork are cheap because of the large amount of land available for grazing animals. There's not always a bone that size available.. but he does get fed well. What is the name of your chubby dog by the way?

May 29, 2008 at 11:08 AMI found out how to remove the double spaces without using the line break thing. Hold down the SHIFT key when you hit enter, like this
and then it just moves to the next line
without an extra line in between..
