Actually, I think that Jenny said 冰淇淋 (with qilín) not 冰激凌 (with JilínG).

Btw, Google gives a clear idea of the usage :

冰淇淋 has 8 550 000 results

冰激凌 has 1 820 000 results

It goes against the 现代汉语词典 but ... whatever !

Jenny笑华盛顿比纽约像美国的新金融中心。在这里谁同意这种眼光 ?

About 放鸽子, I've heard that in ancient China it was the name of a famous swindle. Just after the wedding when the husband is away, the spouse leaves the house with all the belongings of the family. In french, you can say "pigeonner" (做鸽子).

But the modern use of 放鸽子 is the equivalent of the french "poser un lapin" (兔子).

Interesting, isn't it ?

菲尔普斯(Michael Phelps) is often described as 大手大脚 上长下短 (big hands, big feet, big upper part of the body, short legs). But due to the quantity of food he needs to run this strong body he's also a real 大手大脚. ;o)

@ miantiao,

As 漏洞 means loophole and 钻空子 means exploit a loophole, could 钻洞 or 钻一个洞 mean something else than hole drilling ?

Speaking of werefox, when I say in chinese that I use 搜狐 (Sohu) or 火狐 (Firefox) could it have a hidden meaning ? ;o)

Obviously, 僵尸道长 couldn't avoid a direct translation in english as "Zombie long road".  ;o)

势利 was just introduced in this lesson. I hoped that Cpod would make a whole lesson around this interesting concept of 势利 and explain in detail the characteristics of a 势利小人.

Henning,

Do you know the Chabichou (goat cheese of Poitou-Charentes) ? It was famous in french politics 3 years ago.

The name of this Cha-Bi-Chou is pronounced exactly as Sha-Bi-Shu.
