January 25, 2010 at 11:31 AMI guess that's one special feature of Chinese. We tend to put the "topic" in front of the sentence, even it should be in the position of the object.
For example, when we want to emphasize on the topic "cake", we say: 蛋糕应该是他做的, instead of 应该是他做的蛋糕。 For me, the second sentence sounds like emphasizing on "他“.

"I am going to go to bed" is more like:
wo3 yao4 qu4 shui4 jiao4
