Where you put the time would affect which verb you are modifying. In Nǐ dǎsuàn shénme shíhou huíqu, the time word comes before the main verb, i.e the info you want to primarily emphasize, it's going back not planning. If you want to emphasize when you are doing the actual planning, then you can put the time before dǎsuàn.

In that case, we'd say 快三十岁。It's weird to tag 3 numbers together, e.g. we say 两三天,but not 两三四天。In the same way, 二十七八九岁is very unnatural. But we always assume you are describing a range rather than a precise number, so even if you say 二十七八岁, people will take it to be 27 to 30.

We are very sorry for the confusion. We didn't say that actually you can use 了 with 住 in structure Jiaojie highlighted, 在+place+住了+time. But you can't say 住了+place.

Thank you for your comment. I tried all of the expansion sentences and dictation, the audio are all working. Are you in China? If so, it's very likely to be a problem with network access speed with your internet service provider. There has been disruption and slowing down to sites hosted overseas such as ours lately. We hope they will address the issue and looking for ways to improve accessibility of our service in China. Our apologies!

Hi,

I checked your account, you have a free account, which is likely why you can't download any lessons. If you have purchased a premium/basic subscription, make sure you signed in with the email of your paid account rather than your free account. If you'd like to purchase a subscription, please go to the Store.

The pattern is 太...了。You can say 太光荣了、太壮观了。光荣的了、壮观的了 are not correct.

I find it easier to highlight verbs that don't take 了, which we talked about between 02:30 to 07:46. Psychological verbs, to be verbs, verbs that indicate a habitual action.

When using measure words, you need to put 了 after the verb not the noun. Therefore, 我吃一个苹果了 is wrong. 我吃了一个苹果 is correct. When measure words are not involved, you can put 了 either behind the verb or noun. When 了 follows a verb, you are emphasizing the action, e.g. 我吃了苹果,the focus is you ate something. When 了 follows the noun, the emphasis is the noun, e.g. in 我吃苹果了, you are highlighting that you ate an apple. What you ate is more important than the fact you ate.
