April 1, 2012 at 6:22 AM姥爷 lǎoyé and 外公wàigōng both mean maternal grandpa. 姥爷 lǎoyé is used in the North. It has the female radical because it's from mom's side. 姥姥 means maternal grandma.

一直 also refers to habitual things, like 听Qing Wen.

March 30, 2012 at 7:04 AMIt's a dialect thing. In Shanghainese, we use both "把"(bǎ) and "根"(gēn) for spoons. But it's only "把"(bǎ) in Mandarin.
