Dr. Seuss isn't that well known in China. A big reason is that like Tang poetry tanslated into English, a lot of the linguistic brilliance and educational value are lost when his work is translated into Chinese.

Pepsi has a campaign called 'people on the can' where they put ordinary people's photos on the packaging.

Coca Cola just launched Coke Zero/零度/ling2 du4 in China. It claims to have the same taste as Coke, but without the calories. The packaging is quite cool, black with red words. Don't know if it will replace 健怡可乐。

谢谢pituitaryadenoma指出错误。我们确实应该更加高标准严要求,特别是医药主题,人命关天,更加要注意。 不知道能不能麻烦你指出课里具体的医学错误,指导我们修改。 谢谢!

suzannescoggins, Many yoga terms are transliterations in Chinese, e.g. Ashtanga/阿诗汤加/。 Hatha is 哈塔/ha1ta3/ or 哈达 /ha1 da2. Yoga has really taken off in China's large cities. Not only among young people like many 'impoted' trends tend to be, but middle aged people, especially women are quite enthusiastic about yoga.

dpro, 中文 might literally indicate written text. But it is widely used to mean Chinese in general, spoken and written. I don;t know waht happened in your situation. 普通话however means spoken Chinese only, since 话means spoken language. So you can‘t say 我会写普通话. tonyc, Iris Chang was an amazing human being as she was a writer.

I once read an article about a unique Parisian attraction: cemetries. The article said it makes a wonderful travel experience. Seems everything is more glamorous in Paris.
