Thanks a lot for your comment. We are all about doing practical lessons. Our belief is that for someone who hasn't studied any Chinese before, he/she will be able to understand a newbie podcast and use the language to complete a high frequency task.

好不到哪去 means 'not that much better'. It is often used to describe two things which are equally bad, so you will often see the expression '也好不到哪去/not any better either'. It can be used in any context. For example, 北京的交通很差，上海的也好不到哪去/Běijīng de jiāo tōng hěn chà, Shànghǎi de yě hǎo bù dào nǎ qù/the traffic in Beijing is awful and it isn't that much better in Shanghai.
