Congrats on your new job! It's great to have another cool guy on C-pod like you! I'm really impressed with your Mandarin...你的國語好厲害啦! Your pronunciation sounded like a native's 發音. Again 我們歡迎你啦!

September 13, 2008 at 1:41 PMcredit card在粵語是信用咭但是書寫的廣東話也是信用卡。我問會將廣東話的人們。。。“卡” 與 “咭” 的意思一模一樣嗎?
我有一句問題,debit card在中文是什麼?

September 6, 2008 at 7:01 AMHey auntie!
I haven't received any pms lately. Still curious whether the Cpod bonus is the Premium subscription that I won as a mod or something else... :)
Wow. I didn't know that ST has a mestizo lineage. :)

September 6, 2008 at 6:52 AMDespite being a Chinoy, my roots trace back to 廣州;香港, while most of the Chinoys here are either 臺灣人 or 福建人 and they speak Amoy Hokkien or Taiwanese. Chinoys are also respected in the Filipino community since most of them have gained "business-tycoon" reputations (like Gokongwei, Henry Sy, Lucio Tan), and a huge percentage of Chinoys here are considered affluent. Chinoy families also try to make their children speak at least 1 Chinese language (either 閩南 or 漢語), so they enroll their childrens in an international school or a Chinese school. However, some Chinoy families are strict on their children regarding their love-lifes. They make sure that their son/daughter dates with another 華人、華僑。
Guangdong Chinese out of the large Chinese diaspora here in the Philippines only makes up (I think about) 12%(?) of the population.
Being Chinoy, I always wonder why I have more Korean friends than Chinese friends...how ironic. :P
I have another question, how do you call someone who's half-Chinese and half-mestizo?
