Isn't that supposedly the most expensive coffee in the world, with prices topping 500 Euro a pound?

Jenny, I don't want to be indescrete, but I am really curious - what is the price of a cup of that coffee?

bodawei,

not bad. But did you ever try sweet Pizza?

I was once in a hip self-service all-you-can-eat restaurant in Beijing with "western" food which was crowded with Chinese teenagers.

The Pizza with the cake like bottom was beyond belief. I tried to melt the taste away with coffee - but the coffee was more sugar than (weak) coffee. The icecream was unbearable, too. As was everything (sweet sausages anyone?).

And my sister in law asked seriously: "Do you feel at home? Is this how it tastes at your place?" Noooo!!!!

Interesting show, indeed!

I agree with those who suggested that interviews with professionals in fields besides business would be interesting, e.g. in culture or academia.

Actually, I am continued to be amazed by the closeness of most concepts in Chinese and European cultures - including the more abstract ones. We are so focused on the differences that we tend to overlook those vast overlapping areas.

Besides, one shouldn't overestimate the role of language. During the last years I learned that you  don't need a language for developing thoughts and inferences, for transmitting moods, relating to other persons, or for building up a distinct personality. No language, no use of digital symbols whatsoever. You don't even need eye contact.

denswei,
although those two guys do not seem to be related, do they? I bet, Benjamin could not even speak Klingon...

But the Sapir-Worph hypothesis indeed provides some food-for-thought, e.g. regarding the influence of language on personality!

Cool! After the Dinosaurs another lesson for the upcoming lesson set "Fundamental Chinese"!

Mark, a1pi2,
culture wars? The Captain of the only true Trek is Picard (although Sisko is not bad, either).
