My wife and her friends always address themselves with the full name (last name + given name). It seemed weird to me at first but I got used to it. Actually this "full name address" seems to indicate closeness in certain situations.

An interesting conjunjtion / construction here that I read for the first time: 之所以[...],是因为 Is that a common one? Worthy to end up in this hall of fame one day? http://chinesepod.com/learnchinese/grammar/parts-of-speech/conjunctions/types/general

可以 keyi is "can" in the sense of a *permission* 必须 bìxū is "must" I would see them as opposite.
