This "就....了" is different from the structure in "火车就要开了"，they are two words with different function.

May 20, 2009 at 6:13 AM@xuchen, yes, here the "都" is to emphasis something! But "也" can not be used in this context (I didn't pay attention to the context!) In the structure “连...都/也”，“都” and “也” is interchangeble，both have the meaning "even".

The great quote, literally translation, "唯一不如被人谈论的，是不被谈论". There must be a better version in chinese. Anyway, I'll keep an eye on that!

May 20, 2009 at 3:32 AM@bodawei, I have no idea about "everyones' 'birthday' is in fact seven days after New Year", but here in China, most people would only celebrate their lunar birthday, and it is different from the day they come to this world (western birthday). Lunar day is about 20(or so) days late!

For example, zǒu lo! (let's go!), it's a common saying, not regional.
