July 1, 2009 at 2:52 AM@janmusi, "比较", to compare, 把A和B进行比较，bǎ A héB jìnxíng bǐjiào,when two objects are put together to compare. This is the result, "A比B好" or "A比较好"，A bǐ B hǎo, or A bǐjiào hǎo. "比较好" means "...is better", eg. “这个比较好。” This one is better. “还是” is not always there in the sentence, when you say "还是", this must be a context that you once thought the other one is better.

Maybe, Sonne ends with a "e", so it's feminine! (haha, a little bit off). BYW, I brainstormed some words I think the rules work, I'll check in detail later.

June 30, 2009 at 3:56 AMHere, “来” and "到" are not interchangeable。They stand for different meanings, both as complements. “这是从外面捡来的”。“来” is here to indicate where the "钱包" is from, a direction thing. But "他在路上捡到一个钱包"，“到" is to say the result, the action of "捡" is done.
