When saying,

四五次 - sìwǔ cì = 4 or 5 times

What happens if we say

三五次 - sānwǔ cì ??

Does it mean

3 or 5 times? Ie Definately NOT 4

OR

3 to 5 times?

Also would 從三到五次 - cóng sān dào wǔ cì be an acceptable way to express between 3 to 5 times?

I think Zhenlijiang's criticism was aimed towards the public shaming of a former employee rather than Jenny's ability to do her job (which we can all see she does well). It was also the amount of personal details given about this person which seemed unprofessional.

Yes, Zhenlijiang commented about the quality but I think that was more directed at the fact this public shaming could have been avoided in the first place rather than saying someone is bad at their job. Mistakes happen.

I also have to pick a bone with your assumption that this is a task for delegation and therefore it is acceptable for to publish. Yes, a lot a tasks will need delegating but If you are the manger responsible for quality then you need to make sure the correct reviews and processes are in place to catch errors. Obviously there is either a process issue (i.e No one reviews recordings before publishing) which I doubt OR someone reviewed the recordings, decided they were not good enough, fired the person and then lazily published them anyway knowing that they were not good enough. Either way, a simple change in their SOP will eliminate such issues from reoccurring.

Now I don't want this to come across like I am bashing you or CPOD... I may sound that way, but I just have an opinion on the matter and I can see why Zhenlijiang thought it was inappropriate. Overall the quality of the site and lessons IS top notch and I dare to say that I would not have been able to learn Chinese without it.

I don't think you can say 3-2-3-3 because you would have two 3rd tones right next to each other.

You might be able to get away with saying 2-3-2-3 but I would leave that to someone more experienced than myself to confirm....

Hi,

I think the 得 (dé) here act's as a link from the verb 走 (zǒu) to the adjective 快 (kuài).

At the moment, I am looking at it doing the same thing for verbs that 的 (de) does for adjectives when linking them to nouns (until I hear otherwise!)....

ie. 他開得很快 - tā kāi dé hěn kuài = He drives really fast

他開一輛藍色的車 = tā kāi yī liàng lánsè de chē = He drives a blue car.

"Check in" to me means that I already have a reservation and would like to "Check in" (sign in/register etc).

我要住宿 and 我要一個房間. Seem to me like I would be asking to stay at the hotel and don't have a reservation.

Are you saying the same is said regardless? Can you help clarify?

Can anyone confirm it? Sometimes online dictionarys return words that no one ever uses.

Also, I assume it is interchangeable with "Check out" with regards to sentence structure/grammer???

ie. 我要登記
