Am I the only one who has no clue what the title of this lesson means?

If I were to guess, I would say that the first 了 indicates the past, while the second indicates a sudden realisation.

There is a Qingwen on the double 了, but I don't think the meaning presented there is being conveyed here.

CPod, a correction:

In the 4th group of three expansion sentences, your mouseover Pinyin says zhōngshēnnánwàng instead of zhōngshēngnánwàng for 终生难忘.

Further, in the second of those sentences, you use the wrong character - 终身难忘 instead of 终生难忘.

A slight correction - in the 2nd expansion, the Pinyin mouseover for 为了 should show the 4th tone, not the 2nd.

The story only helps to carry the vocabulary to be learned. Any one of those sentences is useful by itself, and that is the point of any one of these lessons.

Regarding the expansion sentence:

以前北京的空气污染很严重，现在好多了。 (Yĭqián Bĕijīng de kōngqì wŭrăn hĕn yánzhòng, xiànzài hăo duō le.)  In the past, Beijing's air pollution was very serious. It's much better now.

Doesn't 好多 mean 'very many' or 'a lot of'? How does this lead to the translation 'much better now' ?  It sounds like they are saying there is still a lot of pollution.

CPod, 2 very small errors for you to fix.

1. In the 10th expansion sentence, your Pinyin mouseover says yǒudiǎnr, but there is no 儿.

2. In the 15th expansion sentence, there is no Pinyin mouseover for 方案.
