March 1, 2009 at 11:47 AMLast few weeks QWs were a bit thin and that may cause some problem since a lot of the grammar points that could have been put in the lesson end up on the discussion board. Thus, those points are not possible to download and listen to.
I also want to say thanks for the blog, traditional character support, user voice and the other website fixes :) Cpod is a great place.

This site is good. Is is a dictionary and you can use it to type chinese with english support for students. (Left side of the page: type chinese. Then choose simplified pinyin with support for students.)

Do you think hao3bu4 is "made up" in the same way as dong1xi, zuo3you4, duo1shao and so on? My point is: a word described by two opposites.

Note: 衣服 (clothes) is yīfu in pinyin.

About the cogwheel:
I was thinking about all users that don't follow the discussions, and about future users that have not yet discovered Cpod. It will be very easy for them to miss the cogwheel -it has the same color as the background and it has no label saying what it does. They might think it just has an ornamental function.
Maybe it would be helpful to add a label, "settings", or replace the cogwheel with a button labelled "settings"?

the way I got it is that fan4 is food, cai4 is dish and can1 is meal. That's my generalization to keep things ordered in my brain...
I looked it up in two online dictionaries: de.mdbg.net and www.nciku.com. I hope it helps.
MDGB:
饭 fàn food / cuisine / cooked rice / meal
菜 cài dish (type of food) / vegetables / vegetable / cuisine
餐 cān eat / meal
中餐 Zhōng cān Chinese meat / Chinese food {chinese meat must be a typo??}
