In both english, swedish and german, trousers are considered as a pair, right? A pair of trousers, ett par byxor, ein paar Lederhosen (correct me if I'm wrong).
What about chinese; what measure word fits with ku4zi5?

let's look at two simple sentences:
1. Wo3 shi4 zhong1guo2ren2. I am chinese.
2. Wo3 gao1. I am tall.
In the first sentence, the predicate (chinese) is a noun. Chinese language use "shi4" if the predicate is a noun. In the second sentence, the predicate (tall) is an adjective. Chinese language does not use "shi4" if the predicate is an adjective.
In the expansion sentence "piao4liang5" is an adjective so therefore "shi4" is not needed. More axamples: Wo3 gao1xing4. I am glad. Wo3 shi4 lao3shi1. I am a teacher.
Haha, bad examples, because I am neither chinese nor a teacher :)

anybody knows how to use the advanced search option? I tried to find a newbie lesson about not arriving in time. Someone was running to catch the train or something... I tried lái, láibùjíle, time and late but did not find the lesson.

I'm not 100% sure (as usual) but I think Connie and Pete said kuai4 dian3 hao3 qi3lai2 and duo1 he1 dian3 nei4ge5 re4shui3 respectively.
kuai4 (yi1) dian3 a bit faster, quicker
duo1 he1 (yi1) dian3 drink some more

http://de.mdbg.net is an online resource for typing pinyin and hanzi. You must copy/paste though...
pinyinput can write pinyin in this editor. No need to copy/paste. Maybe google pinyin does that too??

That's interesting. Does that imply that the chinese did not wear the kind of "trousers" that was common in medieval europe? I.e. two separate fabric "tubes".
