August 19, 2007 at 12:28 PM新加坡Mike (or is it 东京Mike?), we used to use a lot of Chinglish back in the day when I was studying at 北大. However, it inevitably involved the f-bomb or other sordid words and phrases.

August 13, 2007 at 7:25 PM心有余悸=have lingering fears 野味=game (wild food, tastes) 娃娃鱼=salamander 几乎十年前在云南旅游一个当地人为了给我印象请我跟他去一种黑饭馆吃原地被法律保护的梅花鹿。按照礼貌我鬼鬼祟祟地陪他去找饭馆。但因为我是吃素的所以除了担心鹿的情况以外觉得无所谓不要吃难得的鹿；鹿大概不以为然。

August 22, 2007 at 12:13 PM我东京大学毕业了 is a topic-comment structure, very common and useful in Chinese. Basically one takes the object of a sentence and moves it to the front as a topic. Then one is free to comment on it, even with intransitive verbs. 我东京大学as for me vis-avis Tokyo University [I] 毕业了graduated [from it].
