Fair enough and sorry to all for not providing English translations in my post above.While the comments policy only specifies English translations for Newbie and Elementary lessons,I agree with you in that I think it would be in keeping with that spirit for News and Features as well.But I would make some observations.As an Ellie myself it is harder for me to give the pinyin without double checking everything with a dictionary.I find the tones hardest to remember and while I'm reasonably confident of remembering the majority of the time,I'm not confident enough that I don't need to double check them,whereas for an Upper Intermediate user like yourself,I'm sure this is a much simpler matter.Now obviously this is all good practice to be double checking anyway,but my point is that the very people that there is concern about putting off [ie Newbie and Ellie] are the very people who may be put off giving it a crack if there are such strict rules and who may not always have the time for all the double checking.Furthermore,I don't think anyone should be relying too much on anything posted by an Ellie like myself,but rather deferring to the CPod staff or advanced users who are good enough to post on these lower levels and aren't too put off by the rules.Also,while I can check the pinyin and tones,I don't know of any easy way to check the grammar or that it makes sense.So once again,I think it would be a mistake for Newbies or fellow Ellies to be trying to learn to much from someone at the same level.That is why I would have thought one of the main objectives for people at a Newbie or Ellie level like myself would be to give it a crack[as trying to use the language seems to me a great way to then retain it] and then hope that either CPod or an advanced user is good enough to correct.Also,I don't understand why people don't just skip the posts they're not interested in,rather than complain about them.Even when I was a day 1 Newbie,I wasn't put off by the posts in Chinese.But this is all just my opinion and point of view as an Ellie.I'm not a teacher and I respect the Professionalism of the CPod teachers who know best,and also the wishes of fellow Poddies who I realise will not necessarily share my view and also need to be catered for.Thus I respect the wishes as decreed by CPod and am happy to comply [and am certainly not complaining..just expressing an opinion].

Now as for the Chinese above,here is the translation as best I can:

宝宝会叫爸爸了，我太激动了

bǎobǎo huì jiào bàba le,wǒ tài jīdòng le

baby can call daddy,I'm too excited

and:

..谁不激动时宝宝说"爸爸"还是"妈妈"?

shéi bù jīdòng shí bǎobǎo shuō "bàba" háishì "māma"?

who's not excited when baby says "daddy" or "mummy"?

Talking about lessons and babies,I loved this sentence from the expansion of Trimming the Fat:

宝宝会叫爸爸了，我太激动了

..谁不激动时宝宝说"爸爸"还是"妈妈"?

I'm definitely one of those users who is guilty of not having checked out all the features on the site.I'm like a kid in a candy shop who doesn't know which way to turn.I'm definitely looking forward to exploring more though.Perhaps if I knuckled down instead of chatting so much....hmmm..good advice 老师's..:)

ps.What's interesting also is the whole lexical chunk of 炒股票.It's almost like it's recognising from the outset the risk of getting fried.I hope no Poddies are getting 炒'd in any way shape or form [I wonder how you would say that in Chinese so it would make sense?]

因为他们是朋友的朋友我不知道内容，不过我想他们有高兴结果的宝宝。但是我不知道 the timing of things because of course it is considered normal to take up to a year to conceive,and I'm not sure how long they were trying or how long after they took the 风水师's advice that they did conceive.好运大家poddies.:)

Yeah,thanks for the laughs mate;very good.It reminds me of the reverse situation in a joke by Steven Wright:

"I was in a job interview and I opened a book and started reading. Then I said to the guy, "Let me ask you a question. If you are in a spaceship that is traveling at the speed of light, and you turn on the headlights, does anything happen?" He said, "I don't know." I said, "I don't want your job.""

I still can't get over how well acted this is.From the tremulous sound in 朱丽叶's voice,to the calm,business like manner of 周俊 ,to the increasingly 激动 voice of  老王。I could listen to this lesson over and over.I have no intention of ever suing anyone but I can't stop wanting to impersonate 老王's "我要去告你们！！”; a great climax to the dialogue,esp the expression he got into the 告.

I'm a bit amused by this 告 too ,because I initially learnt it as "tell" and while I realise here it means "sue",really "sue" is just an adult form of "telling" on someone.
