JP,

re:"nobody is kicking Matt in the crotch"

...I liked Matt's comment to me the other day about Aussie solidarity and thus I wouldn't have a bar of it either, but in an action series like this,to use Matt's own words,"The menu Stealer on the other hand"....

Matt,

you sure about that mate? I'm usually not doubting my 老市,but it's sounding very convenient to label it a myth mate :) Under the circumstances,I'd be rewriting the rules too.Nah,I believe you 老师,where others may doubt.糟糕;I thought I had you,but you got out of it with a very nice explanation.I think this reinforces a previous point made by Calkins a few months ago about listening to female 老师's and immitating, and the concern about ending up speaking Mandarin like a female. As much as I love Jenny's voice,it's not going to help my case with RJ that real men can still tweet if I start speaking Mandarin with a sweet tweet.Could end up sounding like a Mandarin version of Frank Spencer:

wo3 shi4 nan2ren2 bi1ti1 !!

The effect of those final two first tones could be ironic, and undermine your assertion.

Well done guys. Thanks for sharing your ill gotten spoils in the form of the menu in the pdf, which is great having the pics to associate with the words.I love it when a dish has a history to it.Thanks for explaining that.Great dedication at the end, hehe.I note the chef left his meat cleaver behind;misguided overconfidence in his own abilities I'd say;he has grossly underestimated the menu stealer.

I liked hearing the menu stealer's tones when he was puffed.Good for 3rd and 4th tones I think, which leads me to a request for a future episode.I think the menu stealer should put his body on the line and take a kick to the crotch so we can hear some good first tones, all for the educational benefit of we Poddies of course;I'm sure the menu stealer has the galls to be up to this task.Jiayou.

hehe Pete,the last 2 are a classic.

Thought that 走 must be referring to the walking cars:

or this new climate change friendly rebirth of the old Flintstone's car:

..but I get your point now.It could be referring to other things like ships that walk:

..and then in the last line when he does turn right he is surprised to be confronted with zou gou, right?

I'd love to hear the GPS navigating some of these:

“下右转,不。。,左,别,别。。哎哟”

。。。and if 十字 describes the cross shape of a four way 路口,怎么说这个:

B's last line interested me.I may have completely missed the boat here, but my question is this.Let's say she was being offered a position in the new factory that meant she was no longer under her old bosses wings [A].Her etiquette however seems to indicate that she would come out with something like her last line. How would we know what she really wants? Does she want this new promotion and really is just being polite/respectful/grateful for all she has learnt under her boss,or does she really want to get more experience under her boss before spreading her wings a little. This may not be what's going on in this lesson, but I'd be interested in the answer to this hypothetical.
