Excellent lesson and excellent topic and discussion thereof.I'd love to see a continuing series exploring the all the ethnic minorities in China.

Loved the word paigu.Brings together pai of paidui fame and the recent lesson with gu.

Taste is of course a largely based on smell.

Pete,

Excellent point re assuming good faith.I'm a great believer in this.You could take nearly any comment in a bad light if you adopt a negative frame of mind.A better exercise for mine is to see a comment that would naturally be interpreted negatively and see if you can find a positive way of looking at it.I really think that most disputes arise from miscommunication.

Thanks heaps mate for getting back to this question.Your diligence and attention to detail is very much appreciated.I've pretty much got what you're saying but as I can't read hanzi for the next few days I'm going to come back to it next week and have a closer look at it to make sure I haven't missed anything.
