The rollover has 小王 translated as Mr Wang.Is that right? I suppose if Lao Wang has a son,his son even when an fully grown into a Mr Wang will still be xiao Wang to the old man,but apart from context [if that is possible] how can one tell the xiao is referring to a Mr?

Great idea integrating with Skritter which looks awesome and no point CPod reinventing the wheel when there's such a good programme out there.I always enjoy an interview and this was no exception.The only thing I was a little unclear on was when John said "to get the benefits of Skritter integration,you need to have a premium subscription or above",so I went to John's blog where it explains that by integration,Skritter will actually be on the CPod site.Woohoo !! I was about to go and subscribe when I noticed at the end of the blog article it says:

"You can expect to see Skritter scratchpad functionality start appearing on ChinesePod by the end of the month."

..so my question is,do we have a date yet for when this integration will be happening?

New Show to boot !! Can't wait.[Let's hope Poems with Pete is also on the agenda sometime soon as many have requested].Yep,awesome August at CPod.

I have faith Lao Wang will redeem himself in the end and haven't abandoned him.Jiayou Lao Wang!

Good question.As you point out the subject is clear from the preceding sentence...here 它/它们 is referring to the three principles.mdbg has 它们 being used to refer to inanimate objects,so I'm wondering whether the 们 is not applicable when one is refering to abstract concepts as in this case.Or perhaps it is just a small error.I hope we get an answer on this.

8m33s I'm sure you're right.Your ears are better than mine,and it does make sense.I thought it was funny how similar the two words are and the tone pattern is also similar [can I get away with that? ok,I know different,but basically 2nd to 1st and 3rd to 4th both have a low to high element to it in there].

11.27 哈哈，现在我明白。我已经知道这个词“吸”，所以是好笑看见“吸”在“吸引人”因为虽然意思是“to attract people",the breakdown makes it look like your sucking people in which in English can imply that you're conning them,hehe.Now that I know,I can clearly hear it is yanqiu and can clearly hear the qiu is 2nd tone.Still had to listen a few times to hear 吸引人..very slick.

眼球意思是“eyeballs",对不对?

所以“非常吸引人眼球的词汇”意思是。。words that very much attract peoples eyeballs...or in english we'd probably express it as catch peoples eyes.

I'll just throw this out there as a thought but I could be completely off track of course.The way I would have interpreted it is this.Here you have someone asking someone else to do something.So perhaps it's like softening the tone of the request a little [as is the ba at the end] so it doesn't sound quite so much like an order.Perhaps it's also like suggesting that the other person do something to help them[without perhaps making it sound like an overwhelming burden...rather making it sound like an easy thing to do..more encouraging].Also,it sounds like this is a chronic state of being pitiable,rather than an emergency where a kid is drowning or something in which a single jiu would sound better I reckon.Dunno,what do others think?

上周末我老婆跟我一起去看这部“赤壁”电影了。我非常喜欢的，不过我老婆不可以看看半 的电影因为她觉得它太暴力。可是，她挺满意因为她宣称这部电影证两个女人比几万男人聪明。感谢Cpod 为这个当前和专题课程。
