Probably a daft question but here we go.From 璐璐's 2nd line we have:

 朋友一起吃饭

..which is translated as:

I had dinner with a friend.

..but the rollover of 朋友 has it as friends [plural you'll note].

So my question relates to how Chinese can sometimes be a little vague regarding distinguishing between single and plural [correct me if I'm wrong].Can 朋友 be plural as the rollover had it [I suspect yes],or would it need to be [and can it be?] 朋友们? Obviously as silent observers we know that she had dinner with just one person, but her husband wasn't to know that and in this situation this could have been crucial. That is to say that if 朋友 can be either single or plural then it may have helped her conceal that her dinner was with just one friend [which otherwise may have led to further enquiry].

Also I presume the 一起 can be used for many people also [I think i've only seen it used when 2 people are off to do something together]

Can anyone shed any more light on this sentence from the dialogue [if there is any to shed]?:

嘴里璐璐

Pretty standard stuff.......My question relates more to "璐璐" .Usually in a situation like this the girl would realise that the guy is referring to some other lover, but I wasn't entirely clear that this young flower realised this.Did I miss anything in her take on it?

我有一个问题。

From the dialogue tab B's 3rd last line has:

想当年广州什么

...translated as:

Think of when I ran off alone to Guangzhou back then. I had never suffered

..I was surprised that the last part was translated as "I had never suffered"

..before I read the translation I thought it was saying :

thinking back to the time I ran off alone to Guangzhou. What suffering did I not go through? [rhetorical]

...which is kinda the opposite meaning. Can someone kindly explain how I should have realised it meant that he did not suffer?
