April 11, 2010 at 6:27 AMWell I have to admit I've never been in a Chinese class in any way shape or form other than CPod, so I guess I'm not in the best position to comment. But if the classes are of the order of 50 students as you hinted at in an earlier post than I'd find it a bit harder to have "learning on your terms" and I find traditional didactic teaching a bit of a turnoff. However if it was closer to one on one then that'd be different I guess. Each to their own I suppose ,but I think I should bow to your greater experience here.I suppose it's also going to depend to a large degree on how good the teacher is. xiaoliang's link to Jenny's post where she mentions "edutainers" was interesting [and I'd be all up for that no matter how large the class]. When you have someone like that teaching you then it's gold. It's all about being engaged I guess.I agree ,there is no substitute for real world interaction in China.I'd love to join you guys over there.

April 11, 2010 at 1:47 PMare you referring to:
"一次太多" [which kaorou has shown was trying to express "one time too many"]
in which case doesn't 一次 just mean "one time"?
...or have I missed something?
