Sorry,I understand you're question now.This is a common collocation.I can see why it would cause confusion if you're not a native English speaker because a bit sounds like a small amount and too much sounds like a lot ,so perhaps they sound contradictory to you.But what "a bit too much" is really saying is that it has exceeded some limit by a bit [that extra bit had made it too much].So what kaorou is confessing to is liking gambling to the point that it was starting to be not such a good thing.Is that clearer? Anyway,I hope it helps :)

呵呵，其实Ploopy was helping revive Nick's post above,and I'm glad this has been done because like you,I think it's an interesting story which I would likely have otherwise missed,so thanks ploopy [and of course Nick if you're still around].Having just had the Las Vegas lesson,it certainly springs to mind the habit 21 card players have of taping a finger or two on the table when they want the dealer to deal them another card.I suppose there is no connection here?

I love these transliterations.I mean a bearded Buddha for Hoover.

I particularly liked 拉斯维加斯 which makes me think of someone explaining how to use the old poker machines [what Americans call slot machines and apparently the British call them fruit machines...I can see why]...the one's that gave rise to the term "one armed bandit's":

It's like:

拉斯 pull this [demonstrating the pulling of the side lever]

..then it should be 为 but 维 [to maintain]will have to do

加斯...to add this [now demonstating all the coins flowing into the tray below]..simple right?

So keep pulling this to maintain the adding of these [coins].Jiayou 拉斯维加斯。Yep,I've really taken a shine to this transliteration...it sounds really good to say,hehe
