In retrospect I kept thinking it was 或？或少 and I was thinking that the missing piece was going to be the opposite of 少 which is why I threw a 大 in there though I could only hear the "d" sound. But of course 多 is the opposite of 少 not 大。 晕！

March 8, 2011 at 10:58 AMWhen I was in England years ago I was amazed to discover just how popular "Neighbours" was there....seemed to me much more so than it was back in Oz. I for one couldn't bare to watch it [ sorry]. I guess I can't stand soaps in general. 会随如此, I did notice that the Love tangle series here really sparked an interest in me for watching Chinese soap operas [which I am yet to follow up on properly]. I think it could be partly because it could be predicted to be simpler more repetitive language and easier to follow, but I guess it also helps that it's in a different culture.

3:25..sorry, my question wasn't clear. I had 杂质 in my transcript, but I wasn't meaning to ask what followed "别的其他的"...I was trying to ask what 别的其他的 means. It seems redundant to me to say 其他 after 别的 and I was wondering if it had meaning or significance, or if it is just what we all do sometimes when we reinforce something by putting it another way..I suppose especially teachers may do this for the sake of giving their students the best chance of catching on. Is that what's going on here?
